Marie Durham is a Detroit-based mixed media artist, fashion illustrator, live event illustrator, and founder of FLY, a creative lifestyle brand rooted in the belief that “It’s Okay to Fly.” As one of seven winners of the City of Detroit’s Keep Detroit Clean Mini Mural Contest, Marie’s artwork has been featured on t-shirts for neighborhood beautification volunteers and will appear on public signage throughout District Five. She is also the author of Wonderfully and Fearfully Made, a coloring book featuring affirmations and activities designed to build confidence and self-esteem in young girls. Previously featured at Detroit Is The New Black, Marie continues to celebrate culture, identity, and empowerment through art and fashion. Through FLY and her upcoming FLY Girls collection, she hopes to inspire the next generation of girls of color to embrace their individuality, dream boldly, and recognize their limitless potential.
